Marsha's Helping Hands offers a unique, dignified and compassionate "home-packing service" for older adults who have experienced a misfortunate life event such as the death of a spouse, and must prepare to move from their homes. They are too distraught to cope with packing-up and are in need of a Helping Hand.
Moving is one of the three greatest traumas in life, along with divorce and the death of a loved one. When you combine the death of a spouse along with a move, you have an extremely difficult situation.
After being in their home of perhaps 30 years, older adults can find their move devastating. Their place of familiarity, comfort and security soon vanishes.
The worrying about where their possessions will go can be overwhelming. The preparation can be exhausting.
Marsha's Helping Hands offers distressed older adults whose families may not be available to participate in their transition with friendly and efficient service. Marsha's will work with the client in a sensitive, respectful manner to turn a most difficult time into at times, an almost pleasant experience.
